Homeschooling Watercolor Lesson

Luke said that “one day” he wants to paint some ACEOs.  He is always sketching cute, scary, or crazy little characters, it would be great if he had them all in ACEO form.  Today I showed him how (or at least how I do it.)  The girls joined in and it was so much fun to see all of their different styles.  I was especially impressed with Sylvia listening and following instructions.

  1. That looks like so much fun. Now this may be a stupid question, but could you tell me the supplies you need for this? I am far from artsy type person, so I don’t know if you need nicer paper or what type of paints, etc.
    Thanks 🙂

    • I only had them use 140 lb Strathmore watercolor paper and real watercolor tube paints and brushes because I already have them on hand. You can use regular paper (the thicker the better, maybe cardstock) and the cheap kids watercolors in the plastic case if you want. It doesn’t really matter unless you want to get serious about things. Note: Cut the paper in a 2.5″x3.5″ size and tape it down with either painting tape or masking tape. Have fun!
